Yes, it's fixed with screws and wall plugs. This is essential: no adhesive would hold a shelf carrying a load plus a soaking wet winter coat. Make sure you use wall plugs suitable for your type of wall, especially if you're fixing it to plasterboard.

Allow about 3 kg per hook, i.e. a coat, a handbag or a light sports bag. Actual holding power depends mainly on the quality of the wall fixing, not the bamboo. Distribute heavy loads rather than hanging everything in the same place.

Bamboo tolerates the ambient humidity of an entryway very well, even with wet coats. However, it is not suitable for a bathroom without ventilation or for outdoor use: prolonged exposure to water would eventually dull the finish.

No. You assemble the shelf and hooks, then attach the whole unit to the wall. A drill, spirit level, and twenty minutes are all you need. The coat rack is light enough to be installed by one person, even the 8-hook version.
